*This is only an estimate. Due to the fact that beef comes from individual cattle and all cows are shaped differently, your amount will be more or less and your final price will be based on the hanging weight less your deposit. Hanging weight for a half cow ranges between 325-425 pounds. The take home weight averages 60-70% of the hanging weight for bone it processing. Less if you have a lot of boneless trim. The take home weight is what’s left after the butcher removes bone, unwanted fat and undesirable parts. Often called the retail weight. At Twisted Ash Farm & Dairy we offer Whole Beef, 1/2 Beef, 1/4 Beef, 1/8 Beef and also Beef Bundles.

Freezer Space Estimated Requirements:

  • Whole Beef - 18-22 Cubic Feet
  • Half Beef - 9-11 Cubic Feet
  • Quarter Beef - 3.5-5.5 Cubic Feet
